In the Museum, you will meet the rich history of the successful company JAWA, thanks to tens of exhibits of motocycles and many documents, trophies and so on.
The Museum is open during the whole year. From June to September, from 9am to 6pm. The exhibition is accompagned by the explanation of a guide. In the other months, the opening hours are from 10am to 6pm.
In the very beginning, the foundateur Frantisek Janecek had an idea of capturing the world market with his motocycles. But probably, he had no idea, that he will fulfil his dream.
The first factory was founded in 1929, when F. Janecek bought the licence on the fabrication of motocycles from the company Wanderer. Two years later, the first motocycle was at disposal: it was JAWA 175 Viliers and it cost 3 600 Kčs. In comparision, the common price for the motocycle was about 20 000 Kčs in those days. In the first three years, 50 000 motocycles were sold. Successful was also model JAWA 98 Robot – for riding it, there was no need of a driving licence.
Nowadays, JAWA is one of the oldest and longest working czech companies producing motocycles. The company Jawa Moto LLT resides in Tynec nad Sazavou.
